Introduction

The Print and Mail feature allows you to use Yardbook to easily print and send your selected invoices via USPS First Class Mail to your customer’s mailing address. This feature uses Lob, a 3rd party mailing service, which allows you to configure and track your mail from start to finish.

Getting Started

Select Invoices

To start, first click the Print & Mail button located in the sitemap.

This will send you to the Invoice Selection page where you can choose which invoices you want to mail to your customers. 

Invoices can be sent individually or in groups, depending on which ones you choose. You can select an invoice by clicking on the box located to the left of its name.

The top of the page also contains several filters to help narrow down which invoices you want to select. 

After choosing which invoices, you can press the green Continue button to enter the Configuration page.

Configure Settings and Pricing

Here you can set the color option for printed invoices and decide if you want to add a payment stub and a return envelope. If you select the payment stub option, the invoice will also include a perforation which allows your customer to easily tear the return payment stub. 

You can click on the Get Price button to view the latest prices based on your selections.

Clicking on the preview link for each invoice will generate an example of what the invoice will look like. 

Note: Lob requires a specific format for mailing invoices which may differ from your previously chosen format. 

When you have finalized your settings, clicking the “Next” button will take you to the payment page.

Submit Order

On the payment page, you can pay using previously added payment methods. If you don’t have any, you will need to add a payment method using the “+ Payment Method” link.

Once you have set your payment method, click on the “Submit Order” button to send the order to Lob for processing.

Track Mail

From here, you can click on the “View History” button to access the Tracking Page.

Lob Tracking Statuses

The Print and Mail feature works with Lob and allows you to track the progression of your mailed invoices. Below are the different statuses you can view on the Tracking Page

Received – Lob has received the instructions for your invoice and is preparing for it to be printed. 

In production – The invoice has been sent to Lob’s printing network where it will be printed and cut.

Mailed – USPS has received your mailed invoice and it is on its way to being delivered. 

In Transit – The mailed invoice is being processed at the USPS entry facility.

In Local Area – The mailed invoice is being processed at the USPS destination facility.

Processed for Delivery – The mailed invoice has arrived at the recipient’s nearest USPS postal facility.

Delivered – The mailed invoice has been delivered to the recipient’s address. 

Re-routed – The mailed invoice is re-routed due to recipient address errors or USPS relabeling of barcode/ID tag area.

Returned to Sender (RTS) – The mailed invoice is being returned to sender due to recipient address errors or USPS relabeling of barcode/ID tag area.

What’s the mailing class?

Lob leverages USPS First Class to mail invoices for Yardbook. Domestic mailings typically take 4-6 business days.

Is there a daily cut-off time?

Our daily cut-off times for all mail submissions are 9:30 am PST each business day; anything submitted after that will be processed in the following business day’s production run.
